The other passion in Joanne’s life was giving of her time and energy to others. The Ignatian
Volunteer Corps was very special to Joanne. She devoted the last 6 years of her life to them. She was also an active member of the A.A.S.H. Los Angeles. She was president of her homeowner’s association for many years. Our Lady of Refuge, Long Beach, was her home parish.
Joanne had a thirty year battle with cancer and would like to thank her oncologist, Dr. Fred Rosenfelt for keeping her alive so she could keep traveling the world. Joanne never let cancer define her.
