Cindy Vinh Chiem

Cindy Vinh Chiem, age 52, of Long Beach, California, passed away from lung cancer on November 11, 2023. She was born on September 4, 1971, in Baclieu, Vietnam. Her family fled the country by boat in 1978, lived in a refugee camp for six months and came to U.S. and resided in California since March 09, 1979. Cindy was known for her independent spirit, kindness, and fearlessness. She exuded confidence and determination in everything she pursued. Her kindheartedness and thoughtfulness touched the lives of many, as she always went out of her way to help others. Cindy is survived by her loving father, Sanh Chiem, and her devoted mother, Mai Ton. She is also survived by her siblings: Kim, Jimmy, Wendy, Linh, Tony, Katie, and Minh. Cindy shared a special bond with her brothers and sisters-in-law: Jerry, Albert, Charlie, Jennifer V, Kathy, and Jennifer C. She will be deeply missed by her nieces and nephews: Steven, Jessica, Kristie, Jason, Lillian, Joshua, Ryan, Sara, Thomas, Joshua, Jamie, Nico, Amanda, Nathan, Apryl, Adam, Natalie, Nicole, and Nicolas. Additionally, Cindy leaves behind her grand nieces and nephew: Orion, London, and Brielle. Cindy had a passion for photography, modeling, and traveling. She enjoyed having her pictures taken. Cindy also found joy in shopping, cooking, baking, and indulging in delicious meals. She is a pet lover especially dogs. She had a fondness for watching K-dramas, which allowed her to immerse herself in captivating stories. Cindy's educational journey began at Longfellow Elementary School, and she later attended Lakewood High School. She furthered her education at Cal State Long Beach, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in International Business and Business Financial Management. Friends and family are invited to join in celebrating Cindy's life at Destiny Funeral Home, located at 5443 Long Beach Blvd., Long Beach, CA 90805. The services will be held on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
