Ina Jean Hutchison passed away peacefully at home on July 23, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Memphis, Tennessee, she was the daughter of Joe Green and Sadie Lee Barnes, and the eldest of four sisters.

She is survived by her children, Michael Dion Lyde and Courtney Danielle Nave-Smith (Christopher E. Smith); her mother, Sadie Lee Barnes; her sister, Laura Barnes; four grandchildren; nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family and friends.

A proud graduate of Long Beach Polytechnic High School’s Class of 1972, Ina’s life was marked by creativity, service, and faith. She was a dedicated member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church, active in multiple ministries, and celebrated nearly 37 years of sobriety—forming deep bonds within her recovery community.

Ina earned her B.S. in Finance from California State University, Long Beach, while working full-time, and was an active member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., serving her community with dedication and joy. She will be remembered for her generosity, resilience, and unwavering love for family, faith, and service.
