Rena Richards

Rena Richards, at the age of 75, departed this world on September 7, 2024, after a brief hospitalization.

Born on January 19, 1949, to Pauline Richards in Bronx, New York, Rena brought warmth and love wherever she went. In 1968, she relocated to Los Angeles, eventually settling in Pasadena in 1993. Rena’s boundless compassion for animals led her to establish Pet Mama Pet Sitting & Dog Walking Services, a testament to her lifelong dedication to the furry friends she adored.

Her heart was immense, filled with love not only for pets but also for her community. Rena's generous spirit shone brightly in her contributions to numerous 12-step groups, where she offered unwavering support and kindness to those in need. Despite facing many health challenges, she received the gift of six more years of life thanks to a compassionate kidney donor.

Preceded in death by her sister Linda Cozwith and mother Pauline Richards, Rena is survived by her nephew Shane Cozwith and niece Carrie Price, who cherish her memory dearly.

Rena was a beacon of light in this often difficult world, always showing immense kindness to others and creating a loving home for countless fur babies. She was an exceptional soul who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Though there will be no immediate service, those wishing to honor Rena’s memory may donate to a local Pasadena or Los Angeles area pet charity in her name.
