Leon Broussard IV Obituary

Leon Broussard IV was born to Leon Broussard III and Jessica Padilla on August 31, 2004 in Los Angeles, California.  He is survived by both parents and his four siblings: Jackie, Kelly, Kevin and Katie. He was a beloved grandchild, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend.

Leon attended Ross Academy of Creative and Media Arts Middle School in Cerritos, California and was attending Renaissance High School for the Arts in Long Beach, California. He was enrolled in Spanish Immersion from first to eighth grade. His high school art focus was Stage Production.

In early February, he was placed in the Principal’s Honor Roll for demonstrating academic excellence. In December, he received the Student of the Month award for exemplary academic achievement.  His interest in math and science lead him to want to become a materials chemical engineer. However, he possessed tremendous artistic talent.

He was passionate about costumes and cosplay, 3D printing, and video games.  He began creating his own costumes since the age of four when he made an Iron Man Mark I costume out of foil and tape. His favorite video games and movie characters from Marvel and Star Wars inspired the costumes he made. Throughout the years, he honed his craft to design and produce his own 3D-printed custom costumes. The quality and attention to detail led to friends and family placing orders for props and costumes, allowing him to establish his own little costume business.

Leon had many friends including Josh, Aidan…they spent much time together playing video games and just doing teenage boy stuff. Recently they all got suited up and went out on the town in style for their boy’s birthday…Leon cherished his friendships with his buddy’s and was surrounded by the best group of dudes a boy could ask for.

At the tender age of 15, he had a meaningful relationship with his girlfriend Cailin Hernandez. They complimented each other perfectly and spent many precious moments together.

Leon’s life was filled by the joy and love of everyone who knew him, and we know he is in a safe and happy place in the universe-probably hanging out with his grandparents, Leon and Gloria Broussard, who we know will take good care of him. May Leon’s light continue to shine through all of us.
