Philip Gross

Birthday:  January 21, 1954   Norwalk, Connecticut

Parents are: Father Frederick Gross   Mother: Marilyn Gross

Phil is survived by siblings:  Karen Lum & Richard Gross

Phil grew up in New York

Phil attended Concord Road Elementary School in Ardsley N.Y.

In 1971 Phil received his high school diploma from Claremont adult school in San Diego, CA.

At age 17 Phil worked as a short order cook at Marie Callender’s and would love to bring home Lemon Merengue pies.

Phil received his BS and MBA from USC /Marshall School of Business in 1974 and he was a Lecturer at USC.

Got married in 1984 at age 30

Phil enjoyed flying and was a Pilot.

Went to Work as a Financial Consultant

Phil got involved with Landmark Education in the late 80's and has been volunteering ever since as a coach and supporting staff.  

He worked as a Substitute Teacher for the Los Angeles School District

Volunteered his time with United Teachers of Los Angeles (UTLA) working on a website project.

He was in the process of creating a web site for Sub Teachers to share their ideas – (LAUSD-Subs.org

Joined on a volunteer basis the Men’s Center of Los Angeles (MCLA) in approximately 1994

Joined the Inside Edge Mastery Circle of Los Angeles

As an adult Phil has lived most of his adult life in Los Angeles, Calif.

His last home was in Long Beach, where he enjoyed walking by the beach in the mornings and playing racquetball in the afternoons.  

His favorite breakfast restaurant in Long Beach was The Pantry at the Park.  Some of his favorite lunch spots… Cheng’s and Famous Dave’s.  

Philip was an avid traveler and during the course of his life he visited China, Cayman Islands, Italy, Greece, Egypt, Turkey, Israel, Aruba, Colombia, Costa Rica, Panama, Africa.  

Cruises taken:  Alaska, Bahamas, Hawaii, Mexican Riviera, Panama Canal.

Philip enjoyed life and believed in being of service to others. One of his favorite quotes was..."What I do is empower people to accomplish what they are up to in their lives... faster and far more efficiently than they could on their own."
